Bordeaux Photo Diary
I know, I know, I did it again. I promised more blogging, and then disappeared for a whole month. The truth is, it’s hard to run a blog, manage social media, retouch and edit photos, all while working on your master's degree in artificial intelligence. It can get overwhelming at times, so please excuse the hiatuses and irregular posting. In my last post, I promised to share my photos from Bordeaux, so here they are!
We were in Bordeaux on a Sunday so there were a couple of places that were closed, like the opera house, which is a bummer cause it looked so beautiful. We started our day early with a walk on the banks, making our way to the Place de la Bourse and the Pont de Pierre. Later on, we arrived to Place du Palais where we visited Porte Cailhau, a monument with a castle-like exterior which was once the main gate to the city. We also visited the Saint-André cathedral and went up the Pey Berland tower to get a beautiful view of the whole city. 230 steps, but definitely worth it. Before heading back to the hotel to pick up our bags and head back to Paris, we took a little detour and ended our afternoon at Place des Quinconces and visited the Botanical Garden.
Our two day trip to the south was so much fun – Bordeaux is so close to Paris, and definitely worth the visit. From our experience, a weekend was enough to visit both Bordeaux & Saint-Emilion, but to be honest, I would have loved to stay for one or two more days.
