Every year, around this time, I spend a couple of days at a friend's place in northern Lebanon, the Cedars of God. This year, we decided to go during the Perseid meteor shower and I spent two wonderful nights shooting it. It was my first attempt at photographing the night sky and I'm pretty happy with the photos I shot. We sat outside under the clear skies and the shining stars, had dinner, drank wine and roasted marshmallows around the bonfire while singing along to the music. It was cold (about 8 degrees celsius), but we really didn't mind. After dinner, we decided to go to the top of the mountain for a better view of the stars – we took some blankets, sleeping bags, pillows and a bottle of rosé. Once we got there, we lay down on the floor, put some music on and stayed up till 4AM and saw more shooting stars than I thought would be possible. It felt so good to spend some time away from the city and it was definitely a breathtaking experience. More photos after the jump.
