Summer Dream

Cedars by Dear Laura Cedars by Dear Laura
Every year, around this time, I spend a couple of days at a friend's place in northern Lebanon, the Cedars of God. This year, we decided to go during the Perseid meteor shower and I spent two wonderful nights shooting it. It was my first attempt at photographing the night sky and I'm pretty happy with the photos I shot. We sat outside under the clear skies and the shining stars, had dinner, drank wine and roasted marshmallows around the bonfire while singing along to the music. It was cold (about 8 degrees celsius), but we really didn't mind. After dinner, we decided to go to the top of the mountain for a better view of the stars – we took some blankets, sleeping bags, pillows and a bottle of rosé. Once we got there, we lay down on the floor, put some music on and stayed up till 4AM and saw more shooting stars than I thought would be possible. It felt so good to spend some time away from the city and it was definitely a breathtaking experience. More photos after the jump.

When in Lebanon

Byblos by Dear Laura
Greetings from Lebanon! It feels so good to be back home with my family and friends. Apologies for the lack of posts lately, but I've been mostly away with barely any connection. I've spent the last couple of days in northern Lebanon to watch the Perseid meteor shower; here's a little sneak peek. I'm back in Beirut now and I can't wait to share some photos from my time spent here.

Venice Photo Diary

Venice by Dear Laura Venice by Dear Laura Buongiorno! Grazie! Buona sera! Ciao! Yeah well, that’s about all the italian I know. Venice has been on my bucket list for so long and I’m so glad I can finally strike it off my list. Last month, my sister, my mom and I took a 4 day trip to Venice and I couldn't stop snapping pictures of every house, every ice cream and every bridge.
We stayed at Best Western Ala Hotel (Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, 2494) which I highly recommend. It’s located near San Marco Place right in the center of Venice, the staff is very friendly, and if you’re lucky enough you might get a room with a view on the canal (we were quite lucky).
