July, you were so good to me. So many exciting things happened last month including me graduating, getting accepted in a masters program, travelling to Venice and heading back to Lebanon. I'll be posting my photo diaries from Venice and Lebanon in the coming days, but first, here are just a couple of things you might have missed.
  • It's always a pleasure to find my photos featured on This Is Glamorous.
  • This month, I'll be shooting Alt-J's concert at the Byblos International Festival and I can't hold my excitement!
  • If you'd like to know a bit more about me, check out this fun little interview I did with Our Creative Life a while back.
Happy Friday!

Versailles by Dear Laura Versailles by Dear Laura
To be honest, this post has been sitting in my drafts for about two weeks. I didn't know what to write other than “Versailles, you're breathtaking...” – and can you blame me?

Last time I was in Versailles, I think I was about 10 years old and yet, I remembered every single detail. It’s quite funny how places like this stay in your memory for a long time. We queued for about an hour and a half in the heatwave before getting to visit the chateau but it was definitely worth it... I just couldn't help but to stop and take a picture of every window and glass door. My only regret was not getting to visit the chateau's gardens; we were too exhausted and dehydrated to walk under the sun on what was one of the hottest days in Paris. Guess I'm just going to have to plan another visit soon!

Opéra Garnier

Opéra Garnier by Dear Laura Opéra Garnier by Dear Laura
If these photos seem familiar, it’s because I had already shared some photos from the Opéra Garnier back in February. I loved it so much that I wanted my friends and my cousin to visit it as well while they were here. We weren’t in a hurry and the lightning was beautiful, so I think I got some better shots this time. It’s really one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen – not to mention the gorgeous ceiling by Chagall. My photos don’t even do it justice. I said it once, and I’ll say it again: if you’re in Paris, visit the Opera Garnier. You’ll love it. It will take your breath away.

Cours Damoye by Dear Laura Ciao bella! If you follow me on instagram, then you already know that I was in Venice last week. I'm back in Paris now, and before explaining my yet again blog hiatus, I have something worth mentioning. I graduated! And if that wasn't enough to make me jump on my bed like a 5 year old, I got accepted in the artificial intelligence and robotics masters program at my university. AH I can't even begin to explain how good it feels! This is kind of why I hadn't blogged since finals were over. I was stressed out and spent my days in front of my computer, refreshing the university website every two minutes to check if my results were out. It's been about a week since I've known, and it still feels weird to say I graduated. I'm smiling at my computer just thinking about it... It's a huge weight off my shoulders and I'm pretty excited for this new chapter.

Before heading to Venice, a couple of friends of mine spent about two weeks in Paris. It was quite chaotic to say the least... We were 5 girls in a 50 square meter apartment so you can imagine what our mornings looked like. I got to show them around some of my favorite places and took way too many pictures. I'll be sharing some of them in the next few days before posting the ones from Venice. Happy Friday!
