Eiffel Tower, by Dear LauraJardin des Tuileries, by Dear Laura
I took these pictures at the beginning of the month when the leaves started changing colors. There's nothing better than going on a morning jog at the Champ de Mars with a view like that and spending most of your afternoons in the Tuileries Gardens. Paris this month was a visual treat and with some sadness I say goodbye to autumn. Now, it's almost December and I'm finding it a bit hard to believe that there's only one month left of 2014. Where has the year gone?

Place des Vosges

Place des Vosges, by Dear Laura Place des Vosges, by Dear LauraPlace des Vosges, by Dear Laura
Autumn can be absolutely amazing at times but it can also be very grey and very rainy, just like this weekend when I went on a morning stroll at Place des Vosges. It was cold, foggy and rainy, but I loved how the buildings seemed more pink against the white sky. The good thing with this kind of weather is that I can find myself almost completely alone in the parks of Paris. The bad thing is that my camera always gets soaked.

Hotel de Sully, by Dear LauraHotel de Sully, by Dear LauraHotel de Sully, by Dear LauraHotel de Sully, by Dear Laura Hotel de Sully, by Dear Laura Hotel de Sully, by Dear Laura
While strolling around the 4th arrondissement today, I found this beautiful courtyard inside Hôtel de Sully, an hôtel particulier, in Le Marais. It was built between 1625 and 1630 in the Louis XIII style and it gives access to the Place des Vosges, which is located on the other side of the courtyard. It's a popular stop on the Parisian tourist trail, but if you get there early enough, you might find yourself all alone.

Galeries Lafayette, by Dear LauraGaleries Lafayette, by Dear LauraGaleries Lafayette, by Dear Laura
The glass dome and the balconies of Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann. I'm a bit too excited for the holidays if you can't tell and I may or may not have already started Christmas shopping. Like every year, the Galerie Lafayette puts up the Christmas tree under the dome. However this year, they decided to put it upside down. Don't worry, it's totally OK to gasp when you see the Lafayette Christmas tree - who wouldn't? I can't imagine how much effort it took to build such a stunning and huge (25 meters) Christmas tree. Have any of you started your Christmas shopping yet?

Coffee Break

Odeon, by Dear Laura Odeon, by Dear Laura
Yesterday, a couple of friends and I went out for a much needed coffee break at Starbucks on rue Saint-André des Arts, one of my favorite streets in the Latin Quarter. Passing cute little flower shops and beautiful cafés trottoirs. Despite the light in these photos, it was really cold.

Midterms are finally coming to an end, October leaves are falling through the autumn haze,  and Christmas is only 48 days away... I just love this time of year. It's safe to say I'm a bit too excited for the holidays.

Odette, by Dear LauraOdette, by Dear LauraOdette, by Dear Laura
Nothing beats morning coffee and pastries with good company. Odette is known for its cute little cream puffs (or choux à la crème in French) and it's located on Rue Galande, just a couple of steps away from the Notre-Dame cathedral and Shakespeare and Company bookstore in the 5th arrondissement. I ate all my cream puffs before even thinking of taking pictures, so I apologize for that (I promise to take pictures next time). Happy Sunday!
